Electric Bikes by Panasonic
Back when I was a kid I would have scarcely believed that a company that made radios, record players and tape recorders would be making bicycles. Imagine my amazement, if you can, when I heard that Panasonic was making bicycles. Not just bicycles, but electric bicycles.
Panasonic has a line of bicycles called ECO electric bikes that apparently run on NiMH or lithium batteries. These batteries, which have 24 to 26 volts in battery packs, can give a rider 27 to 31 kilometers (about 16 to 19 miles) of distance while zipping along on a 230 watt DC brushless motor.
Even though these Panasonic E-bikes carry a considerable battery pack as well as a powerful motor, they are fairly light, weighting in at about 44 to 57 lbs. of course this is a pedal assisted model, so you can go greater distances depending on how much effort you want to put into your ride. There are also different models depending on how much assist you want from the electric motor. You can get a light version that has a three shift gear system all the way up to a seven shift system.
These electric bicycles come with all of the accessories that you would find with most regular bicycles, but there is a special caveat connected with this. Panasonic is making these electric bikes from high quality materials, like steel for the spokes and if you break a couple of them, the replacement parts can be rather expensive.
The price for these bikes is about the same as other ebikes I have reviewed ranging about $1000 U.S. dollars for the bike and $250 if you want replacement batteries.

50 Cycles electric Bike Shop is Having a Sale!
I get notices from time to time about different sites and shops in the electric scooter or electric bicycle business that are running specials. I love to help people out in these businesses because they have always been so nice to me. I have been moving away from selling other people’s products by way of affiliate programs pretty steadily now so that whenever I endorse a product, I can do so without being biased. I am in no way affiliated with 50 Cycles but I am a
friend of theirs by way of this blog, and they have quality products that I love to write about.
I got an email from them and they have stated that they are having a sale of some of the e-bikes that they have had custom built for customers and for some reason the sale did not occur. Now, 50 Cycles is located in England and they sell all sorts of wonderful electric bikes through their Internet site, and I am not sure if they sell internationally outside of the UK. If you are from the U.S. you may want to visit their site and see if you can purchase one of these bargains and have it shipped to you. I’m not sure how much international shipping would be from the UK but 50 Cycles may have a sister store here in the U.S. Either way, it would probably be a good idea to at least look into one of these gems if they are a really good deal.
Here is the link to the 50 cycles site: 50 Cycles They also have a pretty good 50 Cycles Blog as well.

Electric Bikes N Scooters 9/11 We Must Never Forget!!!
I just want to take a moment and reflect upon the events of 9/11. Being a history teacher, I have tried to show my students that there have been key events in the course of American history that not only shake us to our core, but also reaffirm the fact that we have a strong resolve to not get stepped on. Our heritage from the Founding Fathers of this great nation demand that we are ever vigilant not only to enemies foreign but also some that may be domestic. So, today I just wanted to go off topic from the usual electric bike or electric scooter fare that I usually offer up.
I personally do not ascribe to the idea that as Americans, we can go home every night ,sit in our recliners with a can of beer and allow our government to run itself. This government, like a fossil fueled vehicle, requires maintenance from its people in order to survive. Sure, we can blame our politicians, and we can curse the ground that they walk on, but in the end it is the American people that are responsible for the officials and government that we have.
I was watching Charlie Sheen on TV today, and he believes that 9/11 was an inside job perpetrated by the U.S. government so that the Federal officials would have unbridled power through devices such as the Patriot Act. I personally don’t think that is the case, but I can also see clearly that our republic is becoming more oppressive every day. The U.S. government didn’t stage 9/11 in my opinion, because they didn’t have to. There has been an unprecedented surge of laws, rules, regulations and executive orders over the last 50 or so years without a staged event. Heck, our government hasn’t been operating in the green since the days of Andrew Jackson and every year the national debt gets larger and larger.
If the attacks of 9/11 tells us anything it is this: we can’t afford to be lazy. We can’t allow ourselves to have loose laws that don’t hold the elected officials responsible for their actions or their neglect. We must become sand instead of oil in the machinery of the world when we see that there is a wrong doing and we have to remember to do so with a firm resolve and with a patient spirit.
To do any less is to court disaster and tyranny.
God Bless the United States of America!

New Modern Electric Bike from France The Matra MS1 Electric Bike
Man, am I beat today! I went hiking through Daniel Boone National Forest yesterday for 4 hours and most of it was up hill. Ginny the Electric Bike Doggy, loved every minute of it as she waded through creeks and got to run off of the leash for a bit. It was a fun, yet exhausting day. Got home, the wife and I cooked up some salmon, and before I knew it was was in the recliner watching reruns of The Office! Anyway, it was a beautiful day and the weather was very cool for July, here, in Kentucky.

The Beautiful Matra MS1 Electric Bicycle
Every time I do research for electric bikes or electric scooters, I am amazed at how quickly the technology jumps ahead in such an impressive manner. The bikes look like they are designed with the end in mind, which is, of course, developing electric bikes that actually work well for the 21st century, instead of barely getting by, like e-bikes and e-scooters did back several years ago. If I were to point to an electric bike that I thought was really embracing this idea, I would have to point out the Matra MS1 electric bike by the French company Matra Sports.
This Matra MS 1 not only looks like it is very slickly designed, but it can also deliver on performance. In addition to the miles that you can go peddling on this exquisite e-bike, you can get up to almost 60 miles while achieving speeds of up to 30 miles an hour. The bike touts regenerative disc brakes which helps to increase battery life and there is an LCD screen to show you speed, distance, electric power status and other information. However, there is a downside to this awesome electric bicycle and that is its price tag. In the U.S. you can expect to pay somewhere around $5000 for this incredible machine. My way of looking at price, though is that if you want the type of high quality that this type of electric bike can deliver, then you will pay the price, but it is a sure bet that it will be worth it.

We Have a New Electric Bike Forum —>Facebook
We have been getting our electric bikes and electric scooters forum spammed to death, so we shut it down. I’m not a real expert with the management of forums anyway, so I thought of a solution; Facebook!
Face book will not only allow people that really want to know and discuss electric bikes and electric scooters but it ill also provide an entire network of people to connect with us and us with them. Facebook will also protect us from the evil spammers by making them go through several hoops before they can post anything. So, the result will be better qualified people for you to interact and discuss things with. If you don’t have a face book account, then you can easily sign up. however, if you do already, then you know the routine.
We had a major problem with his blog before I installed a plugin called Akismet. Man, did that stop those spamming idiots in their tracks. It also kept them out of my footer and header files, so if you are spamming me, you are now wasting your time.
Here’s the new Forum Link: Electric Bike and Electric Scooter Forum
Anyway, we will have a New Year’s countdown of the best electric bikes on the market today.
God Bless!
