The banner reads ” Ride the Future!” and from the looks of these sleek, beautiful electric scooters and their well designed site, I would say that they are not kidding!  This company is a manufacturer of advanced technology electric vehicles.  It has its headquarters in Bellevue, Washington and also has a European Headquarters in Zug, Switzerland. Much of the initial engineering of the electric scooter technology was conceived in the United States and the company says that it is currently being overwhelmed by the demands of the market.  Considering the rising gas prices we have seen lately, we can understand why.

The flagship product that the company talks about is the EVRider 1000  as well as the EV Rally.The company offers these electric scooters as easy modes of travel that can get you to work and back.  Currently, these electric motorized scooters are retailing for right around 2$,400

The masthead reads, “There’s nothing like our electric bikes. They’re fast and fun to ride, well equipped and built to last.” And that is exactly what this electric bicycle site is all about. Not only is there a large and varied selection of electric bikes available to look at and purchase, the site itself is a treasure trove of information that will blow your mind.

As a matter of fact this online electric bicycle shop is the official importer of eZee electric bikes and their accessories. Their best seller is the eZee Torq which was the electric bicycle that won the United Kingdoms first Electric Bicycle Rally and is a very high quality electric bicycle. Also, 50 Cycles has a new, high quality electric bike line from Kalkhoff Electric Bikes , in Germany which can be ridden for long ranges and are light and of excellent craftsmanship. (I lived in Germany for 6 years and there are some of the most beautiful bike paths in the world there.)

The founders of 50 Cycles state that the name of their company comes from the fact that 50 Hertz is the frequency that the U.K. uses to maintain their electric current. Catchy name and a great site no matter how you look at it.

Most of you that look at my electric bike and electric scooter blog know that I am not too keen on any of the politicians that are currently taking up space in Washington. If you talked to the average person on the street, they would either tell you that they are Democrat or Republican and that their party is gonna save the world.

I say, “Bull-O-Neeee!” as a famous poet once wrote, “The falcon can no longer hear the falconer”, we, the people, have been ignored and pandered to by both parties. They both claim to have different stances on issues and to some degree they do, that is on minor issues that have been played up to look like major issues.

Let me ask you a simple question, who are the principle holders in controlling stock of our major media outlets? You know; movies, TV, radio stations…..who controls them? Why, big corporate oil companies do. They use a strategy of ownership called indirect ownership. They do this so that they do not have to pay American taxes and they can push their agendas forward unnoticed.

I find it funny that the major networks report on soaring oil prices while they are controlled by those same companies.  But, to get back to our wonderful politicians, these people would have you believe there are big massive differences between the two parties when there really are not.

Don’t believe me? Check out the really big issues like foreign trade, and an emerging world government system and you will see that they are lock step with each other. Whenever it comes to really big money, the two parties all of a sudden look exactly the same.

If you really want to make a difference, then you better do it now. There are deals in motion that could easily have the U.S. merging its bank account with Mexico and Canada. I wonder, how many of you out there have heard of the Amero? The Amero is the new coin that is going to merge the monetary system of Mexico, the US and Canada in the same fashion that the Euro merged 10 European countries. If you don’t believe me, check it out on Youtube videos. There are several reports on this from CNN that you can watch.  Just type in “The Amero”.

The only thing that will stop this monster from rolling over us is calm, civil disobedience and writing,  calling and emailing your elected officials on a daily basis if you have to. Tell them you are going to get a group of people together and form a legitimate group and vote for a 3rd or 4th party. Tell them, in no uncertain terms ,that you will press to have them voted out of office if they do not hold the concerns of this country as the highest priority instead of big money. I’m telling you, language like that scares the living hell out of those mouthpieces.

Do it now, while you still have the chance. Time really is running out on our freedom and our republic. If you don’t act while you still have the freedom to do so then will you ever?

It looks like the Japanese have came out with a serious electric car that can be used in a family capacity. The MiEV has a 47 kw permanent magnet electric motor which is mounted in the rear of the vehicle. The MiEV carries a lithium – ion battery pack which sports 2 large modules.

The range is a very impressive 60 miles range with an extra 560 mile fuel range if you need to go on longer trips. This electric car can seat 4 and weighs only 2,380 pounds and it has a top speed of 80 miles per hour. This electric vehicle can be recharged in 14 hours utilizing regular household current at 100 volts. When you think f how much it costs to run this vehicle, it actually
costs 1/9^th of the cost of fueling up a regular gas driven vehicle.
While the MiEV is not currently being mass produced yet, Mitsubishi is trying to get as many as 30 of them on the road by 2008 so it can continue to test the electric vehicle to see if it can stand the test of time in a performance evaluation. By the look of things, Mitsubishi is trying to expand the marketability of its car to England.

As I speak, gas prices in the U.S. have surpassed $3.00 at the pumps. According to analysts, they will continue to go up and peak again in the summer. This is bad news for those of us that have to drive long distances to work and it is a shame that the United States has lost the will to fight back on this crisis.

Yes, it is becoming a crisis because some people can’t even get to work in certain parts of the country. It would not be so bad if this was the America prior to the great depression where we were mostly a society that was based on agriculture and farming.

But currently, America’s infrastructure is so dependent on getting supplies from one end of the country to the other that I wonder how much longer it will be before trucks that carry supplies and food will be stopped dead in their tracks. This as we know, would be a horrible disaster if that were to occur.

As I see it, we need to become more self reliant as a nation on many different levels and if we are to become energy independent then our leadership needs to make that one of our top priorities. Can you imagine what would happen if the President of the U.S. made an announcement that anyone that could produce transportation that runs on anything besides fossil fuel and did not cost us arm and a leg to produce would get 50 million dollars? I wonder how many engineers and scientists would come out of the woodwork with all sorts of contraptions.

But unfortunately for us, our President is from a family that deals in oil, most of our television networks are owned by oil companies, and the average American won’t put any pressure on any of their elected officials to do anything.

Well, for some of us enlightened, we have learned that there are other options and ways to beat gas prices and that is with alternative types of transportation. Electric cars, scooters and yes, if we live close enough to work and other essentials, electric bicycles. I am a believer in this new technology and I think with or without the help of our elected officials we will have another Edison or Einstein that will find a solution that will help our nation.

If you are not familiar with these new ideas, I would recommend that you take a good look at some of the articles and data compiled at various sites on the Internet. You will be surprised as I was how many people are experimenting and improvising with different types of alternative energy.

For those of you that want to take charge and try to change things in our great country in a positive way here are some suggestions:

• Call your elected representative and demand that they explore ways for America to become energy independent.

• Start investigating whether or not you can use an electric car, electric scooter or electric bicycle to get around, even if it is for shorter trips

• Turn down the gas in your home and if you have a big house shut some of your unused rooms off.

Finding Electric Bikes and Electric Scooters at Auctions I am a cheapskate. I visit yard sales all of the time and I am an eBay fanatic. Coupons, sale ads, and bargains are my main staple. So, it should not surprise you that I know where to find bargains. I am also constantly looking for ways to purchase electric bikes and scooters in what is known as the secondary market.

Years ago, back in the 1980′s I took some real estate investing courses that taught people how to really good deals in properties. One of those methods involved going to the court house and looking up foreclosed properties. Now at the time, I was living in Massachusetts and while I was looking up foreclosure properties, I noticed a sign on the court house bulletin board that said that there was going to be a massive Sheriff’s auction in a nearby city. So, I hopped in my car and traveled to that city with my wife and son in tow to see what this was all about.

Much to my surprise, not too many people showed up and there was tons of stuff there for auction. Apparently, the police had seized or taken away property that was owned or held by criminals. A lot of the items were things like old radios, stereo systems, cars and trucks as well as boats and motor scooters. I mean there was a ton of stuff there, quite honestly, most of it junk. However, if you knew the value of things and were patient enough, you could leave that place with something really cool and of course of value.

Announcing the new diggler electric mountain bike. I have to be honest, I am relatively unfamiliar with this scooter or its company, but it if this scooter can do what it says, then it will be worth whatever price the retailers are asking. Just like most other electric scooter companies, the Diggler electric scooter touts its zero emissions as well as low power consumption.

You know, I love America. To me, this is the greatest country that ever existed. We have the best Constitution ever written and a heritage that I pray will never leave us. When you look at our free enterprise system, our liberties and our way of life you will see that we are truly a blessed nation under God.

It truly pains me to see other countries get ahead of us and begin to adopt our customs and free enterprise system better than we do. While I seem to talk a lot about the progress China is making , I feel that I must. I am not sorry or paranoid about the Chinese and their progress and the fact that they are not a bunch of wimps. Just yesterday, the Wall Street Journal reported that the Chinese are hacked off at the higher fuel and oil prices so their government is going to immediately do something about it.

They are going to start refining their own oil and they will not let their people buy any more than a certain amount of it. Once they have their refineries up and running and are able to extract their own oil, they are going to tell the middle east to choke on it. As a matter of fact, they have already put a cap on oil purchasing in their country.

Good for them. I wish Americans would do that sort of thing but we won’t. We have had it so well for so long that we are now slaves to our own pleasures, even if it kills us.

The Roman Empire died because they enjoyed life too much. The people there eventually became too complacent and lazy. Their leaders glutted themselves on pleasure, parties, sporting events and consuming large amounts of food and drink.

Does any of that sound familiar?

Of course, if any Presidential candidate were to say what I just posted he would get so much flak he would never get elected, even though it is true. As I see it (and this is just my opinion) but if we are to lick this dependency on oil we, as Americans, are simply going to have to quit being so lazy and non-caring. We are going to have to quit being so politically inactive too. We also need to start thinking beyond the borders of a two party system.

Just yesterday, there was a poll taken on CNN’s Lou Dobbs (one of the few, real journalists out there) news program. I hope this is an accurate poll because it indicated that American’s are fed up with both the Democrats as well as Republicans. As a matter of fact, the poll indicated that 75% of the people asked responded in this manner.

Well, I for one, am ready for a change. I too am sick and tired of political pandering without any real results. America is full of brilliant minds. Don’t tell me we can’t figure out a way to get away from fossil fuels. If you look at all of the great minds in American history- Edison, Ford, even George Washington, they were all told that they couldn’t do it! The task set before them was too great. We can’t win the war, you can’t create a light source or build cars faster and cheaper, because it is impossible!!!!!!!

Bull- oney.

We probably already have a car that runs on water or air, the international elite are stifling it any way they can. Why? Big money and that’s all our politicians seem to listen to. So, I guess we need to learn a lesson from our neighbors and fin d a way to become self sufficient.

I guess it is either that, or keep coughing up oil and gas money until we go broke.
